I was born and raised in Bethel Park, PA - a suburb of Pittsburgh. I graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in Elementary Education and taught elementary school for 15 years.
My husband Denny (high school sweetheart) and I have been married for 49 years, love to travel and dance, and have two children and five grandchildren. We have lived in Dekalb County since 1970 and moved to the Smoke Rise area in 1992. I have always loved Zoo Atlanta and served as a docent for 10 years and Denny and I have chaired the Beastly Feast and have "safaried" with past Director Terry Maple in Africa.
Because I am also extremely interested in the environment and nature I have taken the Master Gardener and Master Birder courses. I have been a member of the Morning Glories Garden Club and am now an Associate Member. We love to garden and have enjoyed having folks tour our gardens.
Finally, I love to write, and I am so grateful to the Smoke Signal for giving me the opportunity to share my thoughts with our readers..
